Wolf Nation - J.R. Rain

Mickey Friday knows how to spot a bad situation... or how to walk into one, anyway.

When a routine surveillance job leads her to a strange, self-sufficient community known as Wolf Nation, Mickey realizes she's stumbled into something far more dangerous than an affair. Officially, Wolf Nation is an obscure religious group living quietly in the California desert. Unofficially, they're werewolves preparing for a future where humans are no longer in charge.

Then a body turns up.

Trapped inside Wolf Nation with no backup, no phone service, and no one she fully trusts, Mickey is asked to do the unthinkable: investigate a murder for a society that claims it has no crime. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a web of seduction, power plays, and long-buried motives that reach all the way back to San Diego-and straight into the heart of the wolf hierarchy.

With her ex-boyfriend (now human detective) chasing related murders in the city, an old flame watching her back from the shadows, and the Wolf Nation closing ranks, Mickey must decide how far she's willing to go for the truth... and whether exposing it is worth the cost.

Because in Wolf Nation, loyalty comes first, and outsiders don't get out alive.
