This book of poems is about the different issues affecting the Belizean society. The poems serenades the black survivalists, those who fight the oppression of poverty on a daily basis, the stinging pangs of hunger, and the rejection of the culturally deprived. He carves out these poems of liberation, these poems of freedom, these poems of rights, and these poems of wrongs. But are we to celebrate these spoken words of the pen, by a poet who has emerged to say that life in Belize is not right, and stands alone against all odds that people are persecuted for the truth that they tell. A revolutionary poet is he, that dares to express the suffering of the oppressed, has angered the powerful at the advancement of the weak.
