Synopsis "Random (in Spanish)"

Esteban Rach es un científico argentino que lleva una vida idílica en Montpellier, cuna de la biología molecular. Cuando su beca llega a su fin consigue continuar sus investigaciones en Harvard, adonde va con los hallazgos obtenidos en Francia para aplicarlos a una potencial cura de la distrofia muscular. Mientras se encuentra presentando sus descubrimientos en un congreso, un desconocido le entrega el diario íntimo de su abuelo asesinado.

Ese diario le revela a Esteban que su abuelo tuvo una doble vida: en secreto, era cazador de nazis en Latinoamérica. A partir de ahí, la vida del propio Esteban da un giro de ciento ochenta grados, y todo se acelera: sucesivos fracasos en el laboratorio le hacen sospechar que algo se esconde detrás de las bases científicas sobre las que está investigando. ¿Es posible que esto ocurra en Harvard?

Esteban asumirá el riesgo que implica buscar la verdad. En su pesquisa se enfrentará con todo tipo de peligros. De científico de laboratorio, se convertirá en detective por accidente. A lo largo de esta profunda transformación personal se cuestionará el funcionamiento de la ciencia, sus mezquindades y sus intereses políticos, al tiempo que descubrirá los secretos de su abuelo. Su vida ya no será la misma, y su destino tampoco.

Estanislao Bachrach (Buenos Aires, August 20, 1971) holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from UBA and the University of Montpellier in France. He specializes in Leadership, Innovation, Emotional Intelligence, and Change, and holds a Master's in Business Administration from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, where he is currently a full-time professor of Creativity and Innovation and Emotional Intelligence for Leaders.

He taught and conducted research at Harvard University for five years, where his students awarded him the Certificate of Distinction in Teaching Biological Sciences for four consecutive years. In Argentina, he co-directed postgraduate programs from Harvard Medical International and Columbia Business School for Latin America, and was the director of the undergraduate program in Business Economics and several executive education programs at the Business School of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Additionally, he founded and directs COCOLAB, an international consultancy in innovation, education, and change.

A renowned international speaker, his first book, ÁgilMente, (Conecta, 2013), quickly became an unprecedented international publishing phenomenon. EnCambio (Conecta, 2015) is his second book.

His latest book, Random (Conecta 2018), is a novel based on real events and the author's first foray into the world of fiction.
