Adolfo Serra (Teruel, 1980) has been passionate about drawing since he was very young. He studied Advertising and Public Relations, and worked for several advertising agencies. Years later, at the Arte10 School in Madrid, he rediscovered his vocation, and since then his desk has been filled with colors, papers, and textures. For him, to illustrate is to decide, to illustrate is to tell, to illustrate is to observe, to illustrate is... many things, depending on each one's vision. His illustrations have been featured at the Bologna Book Fair, the Bratislava Biennial of Illustration, the Sharjah Children's Book Fair, the Ibero-American Illustration Catalog, the CJ Picture Book Awards in Korea, the Mostra Internazionale d'Illustrazione per l'Infanzia in Sàrmede, and the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. His work, which stands out for an exquisite use of light and the most varied colors, can be found in several books he has illustrated, both classic and contemporary, and also in children's literature, for which he has great appreciation: Leaves of Grass, by Walt Whitman (Alma, 2019); Little Red Riding Hood (Nórdica, 2019); Memory of the Snow, by Julio Llamazares (Nórdica, 2020), or A Wrong Costume, by Fernando Pessoa (Nórdica, 2021). Part of his professional activity involves developing workshops and labs related to illustration and drawing, for both children and adults. Miguel Hernández was born in Orihuela in 1910. From a young age, he had to balance his poetic vocation with his job as a goat shepherd. In 1934, he moved to Madrid, where his work began to be known. His friendship with Pablo Neruda and Vicente Aleixandre was decisive for his ideological and literary evolution. When the war broke out, he volunteered in support of the republican cause. In just over ten years of creation, he went through different literary stages that are undoubtedly related to his biographical data: death of his first son, birth of the second when the war was ending, his imprisonment... Among his works stand out Perito en lunas, El rayo que no cesa, Viento del pueblo, El hombre acecha, and Cancionero y romancero de ausencias. Miguel Hernández died of tuberculosis in the Alicante prison at the age of thirty-one.
