El tema central que organiza este libro es el rol de las emociones generadas en los últimos dos procesos constitucionales. Aun cuando sus formas y contenidos fueron diametralmente opuestos se argumenta que el miedo, entendido como “perturbación angustiosa del ánimo, recelo o aprensión por un riesgo o daño real o imaginario que alguien tiene de que le suceda algo contrario a lo que desea”, jugó un importante papel tanto en la formulación como en los rechazos de ambas propuestas constitucionales. Así, estas se constituyeron de hecho en domos de protección constitucional ante miedos transgeneracionales. Desde esta perspectiva se analizan y comparan los proyectos de nueva constitución elaborados por la Convención Constitucional y el Consejo Constitucional, y se proyectan posibles escenarios a partir de estas experiencias.
