Shinya Umemura
Shinya Umemura is co-author, alongside Takumi Fukui and with illustrations by Ajichika, of the successful manga Shūmatsu no Valkyrie (Record of Ragnarok), which began its publication in November 2017 and is still ongoing. It falls within the seinen genre of action and fantasy, featuring epic duels between gods and human heroes. The series has over 24 volumes and has been translated into multiple languages, including a Spanish edition published by Editorial Ivrea.
Although Shūmatsu no Valkyrie has not won direct literary awards, its popularity is undeniable: it has sold over 9 million copies and was a finalist in rankings such as Kono Manga ga Sugoi!
