Over half a million kilometers on the bicycle. Over two thousand days of competition (eleven Tours de France, eleven Vueltas a España, and two Giro d'Italia). Twenty-one years as a licensed cyclist, from 1975 to 1994 (thirteen of them as a professional). Main victories: Vuelta a España 1985 and 1989. Tour de France 1988. Twenty-nine races as a professional (one hundred twenty in other categories). One year after hanging up the bike, in 1995, he began collaborating with various media outlets (RTVE, Cadena Ser, Onda Cero, and Marca)
