Mauricio Rabuffetti was born in 1975. He is a Uruguayan journalist and political columnist. He was a Latin American correspondent in Washington DC and editorial secretary of the Agence France Presse in Brazil. He is currently the Economics editor for AFP in Latin America. He contributes to the American newspaper The New York Times and is a guest columnist for the Uruguayan newspaper El País. He has conducted and produced reports, interviews, and analysis notes around the world, from the United States to Israel and the Palestinian territories, passing through the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, devastated Haiti, or the conflictive Venezuela of Hugo Chávez. He has collaborated among other media with The Guardian, France 2, TV Globo, radio El Espectador, NTN24, and Univision. He holds a degree in Social Communication.
