Carlo Invernizzi Accetti
Carlo Invernizzi Accetti is an Italian-American political scientist and academic, full professor of Political Science at the City College of the City University of New York (CUNY). He is also a research associate at the Center for European Studies at Sciences Po (Paris) and a visiting professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. His work focuses on democratic theory and comparative politics, exploring issues such as the relationship between religion and politics, the rise of populism and technocracy, and ideological transformations in Western democracies

Among his most notable publications are Relativism and Religion: Why Democratic Societies Do Not Need Moral Absolutes (2015), What Is Christian Democracy? Politics, Religion and Ideology (2019) and Technopopulism: The New Logic of Democratic Politics (2021), co-written with Christopher J. Bickerton. His works, in the field of political essay and democratic theory, have been fundamental in understanding the contemporary dynamics of politics in Europe and the United States.
