Azul Cordo
Azul Cordo, born in 1985 in La Plata, Argentina, is a journalist, activist, and researcher based in Uruguay. She holds a degree in Social Communication from the National University of La Plata and a diploma in Gender and Equality Policies from FLACSO Uruguay. She has worked in various media outlets in both countries, focusing on human rights, historical memory, and women's rights. In 2017, she received the Marcelo Jelen Award for her article "Tan triste como ella", published in the Weekly Brecha.
In 2023, she published "Dicen las raíces. Mujeres en la dictadura uruguaya", a compilation of profiles of women whose lives were marked by the dictatorship in Uruguay. This book, belonging to the non-fiction and historical memory genre, stands out for its rigor and literary quality, contributing to the reconstruction of the country's collective memory.
