Adolfo Vera Peñaloza
Adolfo Vera Peñaloza is a Chilean philosopher, with a PhD from Université de Paris VIII Vincennes Saint Denis. Currently, he is an adjunct professor at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Valparaíso and has been a visiting professor at the universities of Konstanz (Germany) and Tours (France). His academic work focuses on the relationships between art, political violence, cinema, and contemporary aesthetics. He has directed postgraduate programs and interdisciplinary research cores in art and new media.
Among his most notable works are The Being and Electricity: A Philosophy of Rock (2019), Art and Disappearance (2017), Between Desire and Matter: Visual Work of Claudio Bertoni (2007), and as an editor, Bifurcations of the Sensible: Cinema, Art and New Media (2018).
