Matthew Reinhart (born September 21, 1971 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa) is a renowned American writer and illustrator, specialized in pop-up books for children. He studied industrial design with a focus on toy design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. His collaboration with author Robert Sabuda led him to discover his passion for paper engineering, which drove him to create innovative pop-up books

Among his most notable works are: Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Dinosaurs (2005), Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Sharks and Other Sea Creatures (2006), Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy (2007), and Encyclopedia Mythologica: Fairies and Magical Creatures (2008). His book "Mommy?" (2006), in collaboration with Maurice Sendak and Arthur Yorinks, received the Ragazzi Award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
