Ava Reid was born in Manhattan and raised across the Hudson River, in Hoboken, New Jersey, but currently lives in Palo Alto, California. The author holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Barnard College, focusing on religion and ethnonationalism. Additionally, she has worked in a refugee resettlement organization, for a U.S. senator, and, most recently, in a startup company in robotics and artificial intelligence.
