This thesis examines the life and career of Lt Gen Leo Marquez. It begins with his childhood on a New Mexico farm. The thesis follows his story through college and his career in the US Air Force. Marquez began his career as a fighter pilot until forced out of the cockpit by a medical problem, at which point he became an aircraft maintenance officer. The thesis focuses on his career as a maintenance officer and logistician and the lessons he learned about airpower as he rose in the ranks. The thesis closes with the culmination of Marquez's career as Air Force deputy chief of staff for logistics and engineering and distills the theoretical implications of his ideas on logistics and airpower.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
