Synopsis "The Lost Children"

This is Book 2 in the Prophet Factory series and sees the return of some of the characters from the first book but it can be read as a stand alone story.New Eden, sometime in the future where the government is an uneasy alliance between New Brethren politicians and powerful corporations. The latest edition to the Federation, New Eden was colonised over twenty years ago by corporate miners and a number of believers of the New Brethren religious sect. Since then it has developed into the home world of the sect and the birthplace of their Prophets.New Eden is gripped by a series of grisly murders and the local police team, headed by Inspector Goodridge, are struggling with the case. Tensions build up, not only between the secular and the New Brethren sections of the population but within the police investigation team. A freelance, employed by the Corporation Confederation to investigate the kidnapping and death of the planetary Corporation Head, arrives on New Eden but he also has a secret agenda which brings him into conflict with the police and endangers the New Brethren secret program.As he probes into the old case he finds himself dragged into the current hunt for the serial killer which leads to a desperate fight for his own survival.
