Fanny Blake es una escritora británica con amplia experiencia editorial: trabajó como editora de ficción y no ficción durante muchos años, hasta que decidió dedicarse a escribir por su cuenta. Con estudios en la Universidad de Edimburgo en francés y español, su trayectoria profesional la llevó desde Corgi Books hasta Penguin, donde fue editora senior durante 14 años, y luego directora editorial en otras editoriales.
