Synopsis "The Jellyfish Device"

The Jellyfish Device is a frighteningly plausible futuristic hard science fiction novel set in 2054 Canada. Out of control technology is destroying society, the economy, the environment, and threatening our lives. A beautiful but troubled Chinese-Canadian ex-gangster wants to leave her past behind. A genius hacker and veteran from the second war in the Ukraine, has issues of his own. His luck was improving when he was hired to find the kidnapped son of a billionaire and he enlists her for her uncanny intuition and fighting skills. In the process, they are irresistibly drawn to each other, but she has a secret she fears will scare him off. Kevin and Jade become ensnared with a cult that has learned how to build a DIY hydrogen bomb, and not only threatens to take over Canada, but the entire world. Kevin faces an intolerable dilemma, and must help the cult to protect Jade, or does Jade need to protect Kevin? Seeking vengeance and abandoned by the authorities, they are the only ones who can stop the cult from using the Jellyfish Device, but the clock is ticking.For fans of gritty, hard, near-future sci-fi.
