Mireia Canals i Botines (Barcelona, 1969) is a philologist, writer, and Catalan politician, deputy in the Parliament of Catalonia in the IX and X legislatures. General Secretary of the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean from November 2014 to February 2017. English teacher and researcher at the University of Vic, member of the GETLIHC research group. She holds a degree in English philology from the Universitat de Barcelona and a PhD in communication from the Universitat Ramon Llull. Activist of Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya, member of the local council of Solsona and regional council of Solsonès.

Mireia Canals has dedicated herself to children's writing following a collaboration with a research group from the UAB which works on habits, behaviors, and values in children and adolescents.
