Timothy Davidson unlocks all the inner doings of assaults, schemes, gangs, extorsion plots, escapes, smuggling, sexual behavior, dirty staff and tactics of prison life acquired from his 25-year career as a guard at a California state prison. His imposing stature and presence, coupled with his wit and streetwise awareness (acquired from a bad-boy upbringing) provide us with a fascinating, informative, entertaining and frequently amusing peek into all the things he saw, did and heard within the Beast. He had to go before the shooting review board three times after discharging his weapon to quell disturbances on the yard. His last shooting incident involved a well-known felon being stabbed by a convict from a famous family. He had daily interaction with many notorious convicts including Suge Knight, Tex Watson, Lyle Menendez, Rick Stevens (Tower of Power singer) along with numerous others, all of whom are chronicled within this memoir. It's a perspective few have observed. The author provides the reader with insight into the motivations and intentions of the North American convicted felon.
