Lily Sutton, with a full view from the choir, witnesses how her townspeople lose sight of who they are and whose they are for no other reason than to be a part of the sudden drama in the town. Without even trying, the town inherits a life-long joke and forever laughter when the town's clown finds himself entangled in a sudden relationship that leaves him as the butt of the town's jokes and laughter. The forgiving spirit of the people who live life in that small town is evident when the townspeople continue to look after each other even when the situation allows them to otherwise laugh and walk away. Linda Scott Enakevwe, the author, handles this story with a gentle hand as she sets the stage for the characters in the small town to come out and play within the safety net that she beautifully establishes in the place they call home.
