La percepción del cosmos como un laberinto o una paradoja, la negación del Yo, el cuestionamiento a la concepción occidental del tiempo y la singular noción de que el mundo es una ficción y la realidad un sueño, entre otras ideas, cruzan los ensayos, cuentos y poemas del autor desde sus textos más tempranos y son la particular reformulación con fines literarios de algunos de los nodos centrales de esta doctrina. Escrito a partir de una serie de conferencias y publicado por primera vez en 1976, en colaboración con Alicia Jurado, Qué es el budismo es un fascinante recorrido a través de uno de los cultos más conocidos y más tergiversados del mundo desde los orígenes históricos del Buddha hasta las teorías de la reencarnación y una obra indispensable para completar el sentido del universo borgeano.

Jorge Luis Borges (Buenos Aires, 1899 – Geneva, 1986) was one of the most influential writers of the 20th century, noted for his originality and literary precision. His work, primarily in the genres of short stories, essays, and poetry, redefined literature in the Spanish language. Throughout his life, he cultivated unparalleled erudition, with constant references to philosophy, metafiction, labyrinths, and the infinite.

Among his most recognized works are Fictions (1944), The Aleph (1949), The Maker (1960), and The Book of Sand (1975). Although he never received the Nobel Prize, he did obtain numerous international accolades for his work. His legacy continues to be a subject of study and admiration in the literary world worldwide.
