José Manuel Fidalgo Alaiz is a Spanish priest and academic, with a PhD in Theology and a degree in Philosophy. Currently, he serves as the director of the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (ISCR) and professor of Theology at the University of Navarra. His research focuses on the relationship between Christianity and modern culture, paying special attention to the thought of Romano Guardini, Christian education, and the interaction between faith and reason in contemporary thought

In collaboration with theologian Juan Luis Bastero de Eleizalde, Fidalgo Alaiz co-authored the book Mariology, published by Ediciones Universidad de Navarra in 2015. This work offers a theological reflection on the person and mission of the Virgin Mary, highlighting her essential role in Christ's redemptive work and in the life of the Church. The text is developed from a Christocentric perspective, considering Mary as Mother of Christ and Mother of God, which is essential in her being, life, and contribution to the history of salvation

In addition to his academic work, Fidalgo Alaiz has published other works such as Anthropology. To Understand the Human Being and Your Footprints are the Path, which address topics related to philosophical anthropology and vocational discernment
