Die auf den Reiseerfahrungen basierenden Schriften stellen nicht nur eindruckliche Augenzeugenberichte dar, sondern eroffnen die Frage nach dem Zusammenspiel von Inhalt und Form in der Re-Kreation von Fremde. Die Untersuchung widmet sich mithin der Analyse der entworfenen 'Russlandbilder' und nimmt u.a. auch die poetologisch gegebenen Moglichkeiten und Grenzen der jeweiligen Reiseliteraturgattung in den Blick.
