My Friend Was Trying To Tell Me... recounts a true story as told by the author of his dog & canine best buddy "Mayhem" who one day mysteriously starts barking at him with a constant and deliberate urgency. After several months of incessant barking, Mayhem sadly passes on from old age. A short time later, the author meets with his doctor to discuss some serious issues concerning the results of his blood test, and suddenly realizes that his friend was trying to warn him of a serious and impending health issue that was growing quickly and maliciously inside of him. Beautifully written and illustrated, this story confirms (once again) what dog lovers have always known - that there is a tight dog/human bond that is real, beautifully spiritual, and one of which transcends the ages. If you have a dog or dogs in your life, this story is a must read for the entire family. And, oh yeah... It's ok to cry!
