Los tiempos de tribulacion no son nuevos. Mas bien, parecen acompanar al hombre desde siempre: los gobernantes y los imperios cayeron como castillos de naipes, las hambrunas y las pestes diezmaron las poblaciones, las disputas religiosas se mancharon con sangre. Las respuestas del hombre ante la tribulacion tampoco lo son. Seneca sugeria lo siguiente hace casi dos mil anos: ""Cuando no se puede sufrir algo, lo mejor es saberlo sufrir."" Tal vez sea, por tanto, recomendable saber retroceder y recuperar en la sabiduria de nuestros antepasados las claves para afrontar los nuevos tiempos atribulados que se avecinan en toda vida. / The times of tribulation are not new. Rather, they seem to always accompany man: rulers and empires fell like houses of cards, famines and plagues decimated the population, religious disputes were stained with blood. The responses of men to the tribulation are not. Seneca suggested the following two thousand years ago: "When you can not suffer anything, it is best to know suffering." Perhaps it is therefore advisable to go back and retrieve knowledge in the wisdom of our forefathers the keys to facing the new troubled times ahead in every life.

César Vidal Manzanares (Madrid, 1958) is a Spanish historian, writer, and broadcaster, naturalized American. PhD in History, Law, Philosophy, and Theology, he has published over 100 works ranging from historical dissemination to novels and political essays. His focus is on topics such as totalitarianism, the history of Christianity, and comparative religions. Additionally, he has hosted programs like "La Linterna" and "Camino del Sur" on COPE network, and currently directs the radio program "La Voz".

Among his most notable works are Los primeros cristianos (2010), El Holocausto (2011), El último tren a Zúrich (2004), La escalera de Jacob (2018), Mentiras de la Historia... de uso común (2006), El caso Lutero (2008), and Los tres días del gladiador (2005). His prolific literary output has been recognized with awards such as the Novela Histórica Ciudad de Cartagena (2000), the Premio Jaén (2004), and the Premio Algaba de Biografía (2006)
