Peter Tieryas has worked in the American film industry as a character designer on movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Alice in Wonderland, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

However, he gained fame primarily through his writing. His novel Bald New World was selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the best science fiction novels of 2014.
