El cuarto número de la colección AELAW se ocupa del Lusitano, una lengua indoeuropea hablada en la antigüedad en el extremo occidental de la península Ibérica. Apenas conservamos seis textos redactadas en Lusitano, no obstante, las inscripciones latinas de época romana procedentes del centro y norte de Portugal, así como de las provincias españolas limítrofes, recogen numerosos antropónimos, teónimos y otros elementos ingüísticos, que permiten completar nuestro conocimiento de esta lengua. Profusamente ilustrado con fotografías, dibujos y mapas, el folleto proporciona información sobre la lengua y las inscripciones lusitanas, así como sobre la historia de las investigaciones y las principales obras de consulta.
