For three years, Cain beat her behind closed doors while I looked the other way.

She was his woman. His problem. None of my goddamn business.

Then I caught him choking the life out of her in my parking lot.

Something in me snapped.

I stripped his patch, and when Ripley showed up at my door covered in blood, I made her a promise.

No one will ever hurt you again.

Now she's living in my clubhouse. Sleeping in my bed. Looking at me like I'm something other than a monster.

I don't do soft. Don't do feelings. I'm cold, I'm calculated, and I've got enough blood on my hands to drown in.

But this woman?

She makes me want things I don't deserve. Makes me feel things I thought were dead. Makes me willing to wage war against the Chief of Police just to keep her safe.

They say I'm obsessed. Possessive. That she's got me twisted up and stupid.

They're right.

She's mine, and I keep what's mine.
