The best rule of thumb is; everyone needs to read and STUDY the bible under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit. If the Spirit is not teaching you - then what you are learning is opinion. Think about it, pray about it and wait on the Lord for the answers you are looking for. Laity and pastors need to get together and read the WORD, looking to the Holy Spirit to teach them. Many pastors need to teach the WORD and leave the stories outside the church. Father does not need your help, He needs you to teach and preach what He has already written. It is finished, you don't have to add to it.
