Henri Berliocchi, dans Les cardinaux inaccessibles n'existent pas - Un théorème de Paul Cohen conduit à une contradiction, utilise la théorie ergodique et le théorème de Solovay pour montrer que les cardinaux inaccessibles n'existent pas. En s'appuyant sur un résultat de Paul Cohen, il met en évidence une contradiction interne à la théorie des ensembles ZF. Par une suite de lemmes d'analyse fonctionnelle et de topologie, il démontre que l'axiome du choix et certaines hypothèses de cohérence mènent à l'inconsistance. L'ouvrage conclut à la non-fondation de ZF et propose une révision des bases logiques des mathématiques.
