Synopsis "Karl der Große und Byzanz. Die außenpolitische Legitimation des Frankenreiches (in German)"

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Geschichte - Sonstiges, Note: 2,3, Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (Institut für Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Karl der Gro e, das Papsttum und Byzanz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Karl dem Gro en, dem 'Vater Europas', und seiner au enpolitischen Legitimation des Frankenreiches gegenüber Byzanz. Zu diesem Zweck werden die Hintergründe und Ursachen für den Konflikt zwischen dem Frankenreich und Byzanz betrachtet. Im Anschluss wird der Frage nachgegangen welche Strategien und Ansätze Karl der Gro e zur au enpolitischen Legitimation einsetzte. Zur Analyse orientiert sich diese Arbeit an den Reichsannalen von Einhard, aus fränkischer Sicht, und der Chronik des Theophanes dem Bekenner, aus byzantinischer Sicht.
