Synopsis "How to make America into a Democracy"

America is in trouble. The Federal Government is unable to get anything done while the American public looks on in horror. The problems multiply and things get worse while the Congress is too partisan, distracted and controlled to get anything done. Special interests, corporations, lobbyists, political parties and other wealthy groups dominate the political process. These groups have captured the President and the members of Congress. These groups benefit and are served while the country suffers enormous problems. The American people know that it doesn't matter which party is in control, they know that they are not in control. The politicians and special interests dominate the federal government while the American people are left disillusioned, despondent and apathetic. Many Americans are disgusted with the entire process and fear that things could never possibly get better. This book advocates for turning the United States into a democracy. It is commonly said that America is a democracy but it's not, it is a republic. This book outlines a series of steps that the country could take to turn itself into an actual democracy.
