Born in Bogotá, Colombia. She graduated in Philosophy and Letters from Universidad de los Andes. For 18 years, she hosted the radio program La historia del mundo on Caracol Radio. She is the founder and director of La Casa de la Historia, a digital platform created for the dissemination of universal history (www.lacasadelahistoria.com). In 2011, she was awarded the Gusi Peace Prize in the Philippines, for her work in promoting tolerance on the radio. In 2002, she won the Simón Bolívar Journalism Award for best cultural broadcast on radio. She is an international analyst, and has been invited by the British Council to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Northern Ireland peace agreement, by the Embassy of Colombia in Ghana to present the historical links between Ghana and Colombia, by the European Union to study the Reunification of Germany, by the Brazilian government and UNESCO to study the gold route and the world heritage cities, and by the Japan Foundation to delve into the history and religion of the Japanese people.
