Sapkowski has been awarded five Zajdel Awards, one of the most prestigious in science fiction and fantasy literature in Poland, for works like The Lesser Evil (1990), The Sword of Destiny (1992) and Narrenturm (2002). The latter marks the beginning of a trilogy set during the Hussite Wars of the 15th century, showcasing his versatility as an author.
