Synopsis "Geologische Studie in Den Pranmalai-Hügeln (in German)"

Das Gebiet von Pranmalai ist im Allgemeinen ein Hartgestein. Es gibt kein Sedimentgestein in Pranamalai, mit Ausnahme von rezentem Schwemmland. Der Geological Survey of India [GSI] in Tamilnadu hat bereits stichprobenartige geologische Kartierungen in Tamilnadu und auch in der Region Pranmalai durchgeführt. Eine detaillierte geologische Kartierung wurde in und um die Region Pranmalai jedoch bisher von keiner Organisation durchgeführt. Mit diesem Ziel vor Augen wurde in diesem Projekt ein Versuch unternommen, in und um die Pranmalai-Hügel im Distrikt Sivagangai, Tamilnadu, Indien, petrographische und mineralogische strukturelle geologische Kartierungsarbeiten durchzuführen. Dies ist die erste fortgeschrittene Forschungsarbeit in dem oben genannten Untersuchungsgebiet.
