Daniel Feierstein (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1967) is a sociologist and holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. He serves as a full professor of the chair Analysis of Genocidal Social Practices at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires and as director of the Center for Genocide Studies and the Master's in Cultural Diversity, both at the National University of Tres de Febrero. He is an independent expert for the United Nations in the development of the Bases for an Argentine National Human Rights Plan. Among his publications are: Five Studies on Genocide (1997), Six Studies on Genocide. Analysis of Social Relations: Otherness, Exclusion, Extermination (2000). He is one of the authors of the collective volume Discrimination in Argentina: Diagnosis and Proposals (2006) and has compiled, Until Death Do Us Part. Power and Genocidal Social Practices in Latin America with Guillermo Levy and Genocide. The Administration of Death in Modernity (2005). He regularly contributes articles and essays to numerous Argentine and foreign publications. Fondo de Cultura Económica has published Genocide as a Social Practice. Between Nazism and the Argentine Experience (2007), Memories and Representations. On the Elaboration of Genocide (2012), Trials: on the Elaboration of Genocide II (2015) and Introduction to Genocide Studies (2016) and Pandemic. A Social and Political Balance of the Covid-19 Crisis (2021).
