Michael LaPierre's great-grandfather, Albert Clinch, was the lighthouse keeper from 1913 through 1918 on Franklin Island and his grandmother, Lola Clinch, was an appreciative beneficiary of that life-altering Christian experience.

President Thomas Jefferson is widely credited with ordering the construction of the Franklin Island Lighthouse in the beautiful State of Maine. It was subsequently authorized by Congress in 1808 and built in 1809.
