Metallmatrix-Verbundwerkstoffe (MMC) sind Metallmatrizen, die mit einer zweiten Phase verstärkt sind, bei der es sich um eine Keramik unterschiedlicher Grö e handeln kann. Metallmatrix-Nanokomposite (MMNC) sind solche mit Verstärkungen in Nanogrö e. Es wurden zahlreiche Verarbeitungstechniken entwickelt, um MMNCs im kommerziellen Ma stab herzustellen, darunter die Semi-Solid-Technik (Compocasting), bei der das Einmischen von verstärkenden Nanopartikeln in die Matrix durch die hohe effektive Viskosität der Metallaufschlämmung erleichtert wird. EMS-unterstützte Compocast-Verbundwerkstoffe bieten eine gleichmä ige Verteilung der Nanopartikel bei gleichzeitig überlegener Verschlei festigkeit. Dieses Buch befasst sich mit der Optimierung, Herstellung und Charakterisierung von mit Nano-Al2O3 verstärkten Al-Matrix-Verbundwerkstoffen. Ein adaptives neuro-fuzzy Inferenzsystem in Kombination mit einer Partikelschwarm-Optimierungsmethode kann zur Optimierung der Prozessparameter eingesetzt werden.
