Ebenso steht die Frage im Fokus, welche Art der Finanzierung sie wählen um Innovationen zu entwickeln, beziehungsweise eine Organisation um das Produkt herum aufzubauen und im hart umkämpften Markt zu etablieren. Nach Beschreibung von beobachtbaren Phänomenen wie Marktfunktionen, Geschäftsmodellen und Organisationsformen wird in Bezug auf Theorien der Neuen Institutionenökonomik (Prinzipal-Agenten-Theorie und Transaktionskostentheorie) erläutert, wie sich die flüchtigen Organisationen aus einer Projektform heraus selbst (re-)finanzieren und dies nicht - wie mancher zuerst denken mag - über externe Investoren tun. This paper offers insight to the economics of cybercrime, how and for what reasons criminals operate from certain geographical regions, which type of financial support they choose to develop innovation respectively to build an organization around that idea and establish it in the competitive market. After describing phenomena of market institutions, business models and organizational forms, selected theories of the New Institutional Economics (namely Principal-Agent-Theory and Transaction Cost Theory) are utilized in order to explain how fluid and transient forms of organizations build a business- and investment-cycle, thereby re-finance themselves alongside with a risk- diversification effect in a project-based manner rather than - as one might expect - with the support of external investors.
