Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Kunst - Bildhauerei, Skulptur, Plastik, Note: 1,3, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Hausarbeit werden wir uns mit der vermeintlichen Frau Welt und ihrem Begleiter, dem Todesskelett, in Form einer Elfenbeinskulptur von 1520 befassen. Diese Skulptur wurde zu einer Zeit gefertigt, in der auf den Totentanz aus dem 14. Jh. und den Memento-mori-Gedanken, mit der Renaissance, eine neue unterschwellige erotische Betrachtungsweise und Annäherung an den Tod folgte. Ziel dieser Hausarbeit wird es sein aufzuzeigen, dass es sich bei dieser Skulptur um eine erotische Vanitas-Darstellung, nach Sebastian Brants Das Narrenschiff, handelt. Allerdings sollte vorausgeschickt werden, dass die Skulptur eine äu erst komplexe Thematik behandelt, sodass durchaus mehrere Interpretationen und Theorien zutreffend sein, aber auch nicht sämtliche Spuren verfolgt werden können.
