Emmel Zealous is a young girl with sass and talent who also suffers from an anxiety disorder. Like most children her age, Emmel is a dreamer. She has always dreamed of being a hip-hop dancer, and an opportunity to fulfill her dreams has finally presented itself. However, trying new things has always caused her intense stress and often triggers her anxiety disorder. She has the drive and talent but often finds herself overthinking her ability to succeed. Will reassurance from her family give her the power and strength to chase her dream? Will Emmel's thoughts and anxiety get the best of her, or will she find the courage to conquer her fears and make her dreams a reality? Emmel Zealous: Hip-Hop Dreams is the first installment of the Emmel Zealous children's book series. Re'Shae Green was inspired to write this book after struggling with anxiety disorder as both a child and an adult. She hopes to help today's youth face, manage, and overcome their struggles with anxiety, just as she did. Named after Re'Shae's late grandmothers Emma and Melva, Emmel has a story meant to inspire and encourage young girls and boys to go after their dreams, no matter how big they may seem.
