a spodaj na Gregorjevi ravni je bilo temno

Langsam schob er sich zur Türe hin um nachzusehen, was dort geschehen war

Počasi se je odrinil proti vratom, da bi videl, kaj se je tam zgodilo

er war noch ungeschickt mit seinen Fühlern tastend, die er jetzt erst schätzen lernte

še vedno je bil nespreten s tipalkami, ki se jih je šele zdaj naučil ceniti

Seine linke Seite schien eine einzige lange, unangenehm spannende Narbe

Zdelo se je, da ima njegova leva stran eno dolgo, neprijetno tesno brazgotino

und er mußte auf seinen zwei Beinreihen regelrecht hinken

in moral je dobesedno šepati na svoji dve vrsti nog

Ein Beinchen war übrigens im Laufe der vormittägigen Vorfälle schwer verletzt worden

Mimogrede, med jutranjimi incidenti je bila ena od nog resno poškodovana

es war fast ein Wunder, daß nur eines seiner Beine verletzt worden war

skoraj čudež je bil, da je bila le ena njegova noga poškodovana

und er schleppte das Bein leblos nach

in brez življenja je vlekel nogo

Erst bei der Tür merkte er, was ihn dorthin eigentlich gelockt hatte

Šele ko je prišel do vrat, je spoznal, kaj ga je pravzaprav zvabilo tja

es war der Geruch von etwas Eßbarem gewesen das ihn dahin gelockt hatte
