Der bereits 1893 abgeschossene Roman erschien erst 1905, ein Jahr nach Emil Franzos' Tod. Erstdruck: Stuttgart (Cotta) 1879. Neuausgabe mit einer Biographie des Autors. Herausgegeben von Karl-Maria Guth. Berlin 2016. Textgrundlage ist die Ausgabe: Karl Emil Franzos: Der Pojaz. Mit einem Nachwort von Jost Hermand, Königstein/Ts.: Athenäum, 1979. Die Paginierung obiger Ausgabe wird in dieser Neuausgabe als Marginalie zeilengenau mitgeführt.
