CuInSe2 (CIS)-Nanokristalle wurden durch ein Verfahren der unterbrochenen Ausfällung synthetisiert, um zwei Verbindungen CIS DPP: Se und CIS TBP: Se als Absorberlage für Solarzellen zu erhalten. Unter diesen erneuerbaren Energien ist die direkte Umwandlung von Sonnenlicht insbesondere im Irak am vielversprechendsten. Die photovoltaische Energiequelle, d. h. die Sonneneinstrahlung, hat den Vorteil, dass sie weltweit weit verbreitet ist.
