Synopsis "Cheated out of Life as a Child "

Valerie doesn't know her mother's love. She feels like her mother's Big Mistake, and is often treated like the black sheep of the family. When she seeks her mother's love, she is rebuked, getting only verbal abuse and household chores in return. It is for this reason that Valerie feels she was cheated out of life as a child. The girls travel from state to state, servicing men for money. Gradually, all of the girls grow close to one another as they realize that they were all cheated out of life as children. Through her new friends and her new responsibilities, Valerie's life changes and she experiences the true meaning of family and love.
