The healthcare industry cannot keep up with the growing demand for new nurses because there are not enough nurse educators to train them. Without teachers, schools cannot accept new students. According to the National League for Nursing survey, more than half of all nursing schools turn qualified applicants away each year. That means there is tremendous opportunity for nurse educators who are prepared to fill the many open faculty positions. Anyone who chooses to become a nurse educator will most likely have a choice of employers.
