Beauty to Embrace in an Afternoon, Volume 2, The Art of C. Sperry Andrews on Block Island - A. Ballard Andrews

This book presents a selection of works created by Sperry Andrews on Block Island between 1955 and 1995. My goal is to honor his work, preserve his legacy, and make his art accessible again, as much of it has been out of public view. I've included material from his personal archives-notes, diaries, letters-and remembrances from his memorial service. Despite significant development, the scenery remains recognizable partly due to the preservation efforts of both individuals and organizations, which is noted in the dedication. Subjects reminiscent of the island's past are grouped in the final section. My lack of formal artistic training likely influenced my editorial decisions reflecting his lifelong enchantment with the island.
