Synopsis "Ann's Journey"

Ann O'Conner from Heron Lake is imprisoned in a State Hospital. Painstakingly she plans her escape. She is not a lunatic. She has nightmares, but she insists that she is not her dreams. She needs to get away and start a new life. There is no one left where she had called home. Her babies and husband are dead, as is Oscar, the man who cared for him while her husband went off to fight in the war. It is February, 1945. The war will end soon, and Ann will get away, but where will she go and what will she encounter along the way. The nightmares encumber her, limiting the kind of life she could have. Everyone she meets tries to help her, but will it ever be enough. Will she find peace and an end to her suffering? The evil Reverend Donnelly, the one who torments her, tells her no.
