Synopsis "Analytische und antibakterielle Untersuchung des ätherischen Öls der Dioscorea hispana (in German)"

Die Pflanzenart Pimenta dioica Lindl, bekannt als Piment, ist ein 6 bis 10 m hoher Baum, der zur Familie der Myrtengewächse (Myrtaceae) gehört und seinen Ursprung in Mittelamerika und Westindien hat. In Brasilien kommt die Pflanze in gro em Umfang im Bundesstaat Bahia vor. Ihre Blätter enthalten ein ätherisches Öl, das aufgrund seines hohen Gehalts an Eugenol (Hauptbestandteil) auf dem internationalen Markt sehr wertvoll ist und in der chemischen und pharmazeutischen Industrie weit verbreitet ist. In dieser Arbeit wurde die Extraktion des ätherischen Öls aus den Blättern von Pimenta dioica Lindl durch Hydrodestillation unter Verwendung eines Clevenger-Systems durchgeführt. Bei der Anwendung des ätherischen Öls der Art Pimenta dioica Lindl und des Eugenol-Standards als bakterizide Wirkstoffe wurde die Bauer-Kirby-Methode für die Bakterien Bacillus cereus, Serratia marcescens, Listeria monocytogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, Salmonella thyphi und Chromobacterium violaceum und die Antibiotika Penicillin, Ampicillin, Cefotaxim, Vancomycin, Cefoxitin, Erythromycin, Gentamicin, Novobiocin und Tetracyclin zum Vergleich verwendet. Aus dieser Untersuchung geht hervor, dass das ätherische Öl und der Eugenolstandard wirksamer waren als die Antibiotika.
