Anonym: Ältere Edda Edition Holzinger. Taschenbuch Berliner Ausgabe, 2013 Vollständiger, durchgesehener Neusatz bearbeitet und eingerichtet von Michael Holzinger Entstanden: Die ältere Edda, auch Lieder-Edda genannt, die dem isländischen Gelehrten Saemundr enn fróði Sigfússon (1056-1133) zugeschrieben wird, entstand im Wesentlichen zwischen dem 9. und 12. Jh. in Norwegen und Island. Sie wurde vermutlich um 1240 niedergeschrieben. Die Liedsammlung ist hauptsächlich durch den Codex Regius überliefert, eine Handschrift, die auf etwa 1280 datiert wird. Die gro en Edda-Ausgaben enthalten daneben noch viele einzelne Lieder, die aus anderen Teilhandschriften stammen. Der hier vorliegende Text enthält die vollständige Ausgabe der älteren Edda in der Übersetzung von Karl Simrock. Textgrundlage ist die Ausgabe: Die Edda.
